Scorpio - The Scorpion
Those born October 23rd to November 22nd
All water signs are emotional, but Scorpions are
particularly irrational when it comes to their emotions. They go to extremes, in
both positive and negative respects. There is only black and white in the world
of the Scorpion; no gray areas. If you are not their friend, then you are by
default their enemy, and you will most definitely be treated that way.
As the Left Column of the water signs, Scorpios have a tremendous desire for
power and control, and seek these measures at any cost. They do not waver, they
do not falter, and they stay their course with total determination and strength,
which can sometimes result in unnecessary force and violence. Mars, which rules
the month of Scorpio, is the planet and Greek god of war, which makes all
Scorpios warriors who have the drive to eliminate their enemy no matter what
toll it takes on anyone else.
Pluto rules life and death, as well as the power and energy of the seed, which
at best manifests itself as new life. It also gives Scorpios deep sexual desires
that are rooted in the compulsion to propagate the human race. In their efforts
to “be fruitful and multiply,” Scorpios can go so far as to damage their
reproductive and sexual organs, leading to impotency, infertility, and cancer.
Scorpio is a fixed sign, which means that they do not like change and want to
harness total control over their lives and the lives of those around them. Their
greatest fear is to lose control.
In the Scorpio world of extremes, love is everything. If they feel their love is
not reciprocated, this love can turn into hate. It is very difficult for
Scorpios to forgive and forget. The typical Scorpio will not rest until he has
his revenge on the friend that betrayed him and let him down. This is the
hardest Tikun (correction) of Scorpions - to find the Central Column, control
the urge to avenge, and to live, love and let go.
Scorpions are very good businesspeople. They like money because it gives them
control and power. They are very good politicians, doctors, physiologists,
astrologers, and financiers. They have a very powerful metaphysical ability and
intuition, very strong mystical and spiritual powers. If a Scorpio chooses the
“wrong path”, they can be the most lethal and ruthless members of the Mafia.
Their demeanor is dignified and reserved, affable and courteous, and many
have a gaze that is both direct and penetrating. Their secretive natures
make them natural detectives. Many Scorpios possess a suspicious outlook,
and need to know the reasons behind everything. Scorpio does nothing in half
measures. An all or nothing attitude permeates their entire life. When fixed
on something or someone, the scorpion perseveres. Scorpio never settles.
Life is meant to be lived to the fullest or not at all.
Scorpio will rarely be found in the center of activity, but will always know
just what is going on of concern to him. Their tenacity and willpower are
enviable, their depth of character and passionate conviction admirable, but
it is their deep sensitivity that makes them the best and most loyal friend.
This same quality makes them the most treacherous of enemies.
The scorpion is a solitary little animal which likes to hide under stones.
He can be dangerous, but he is never aggressive by himself and will only
harm someone if he is disturbed. Astrologers think that the scorpion is a
good symbol to represent those born under this sign because Scorpio people
usually need plenty of time by themselves to think deeply about things they
feel.
Scorpio people are sometimes very quiet, shy and sensitive and like to keep
secrets. They can feel things very intensely. Scorpio people are also often
very good at seeing the good and bad points in other people. The most
important thing for Scorpio is self-understanding. They are not afraid to
try things other people are frightened of, if it will help them to learn
more about themselves. At the same time, they do not like to be taken
advantage of or injured, and many Scorpio people have a very strong sense of
justice. This can make life difficult for Scorpio children if they think
they are being unfairly punished. Scorpio children are often much wiser and
more understanding than other children, so they should always be given
reasons when they are told to do something.
Their sensitivity, and pride allow them to be easily hurt, quick to feel
insult or injury, even when none is intended, and easily roused to heights
of anger. An angry Scorpio is a sight to see. Unlike Leo, who can have a
temper tantrum and five minutes later be quite himself again, Scorpio
seethes, and doesn't give it up.
When they harness their abundant energy constructively, their
self-confidence tempered with shrewdness, and their ambition coupled with
generosity toward others, they excel at whatever they undertake. Scorpios
are demanding of others, but never ask someone to do what they would not do
themselves. They can be fanatically focused and work till they drop, and ask
the same of those around them. No middle ground for a Scorpio, all or
nothing.
Scorpio imagination and intuition are excellent. They possess refined
critical perception and strong analytical ability. In addition, they seem to
demonstrate a natural healing power. These abundant gifts allow Scorpions to
penetrate the most profound subjects. They are serious folk, but quite
charming to people they like, and when social events call for it. Their
tragic flaw is their immense pride. Once wronged, once Scorpio's pride has
been diminished, the game of courtesy is over.
Many Scorpio people are good at things which require deep thought and
understanding, like psychology. Some of them become fine doctors and
surgeons, because they are interested in the mysteries of life and like to
heal.
Scorpio is a water sign, like Cancer and Pisces. If you are a Scorpio, your
special gifts are your insight and sensitivity, and your strength of will,
which can achieve anything in life.
