INSIGHTS ON 1 CORINTHIANS 13:11.

“When I was a CHILD, I talked like a CHILD, I reasoned like a CHILD; now that I have become a MAN, (GOD’S MODEL OF A MAN), I put away CHILDISH things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11

This was the prayer that the men thundered during the closing ceremony of the 'For Men Only' class at the Johnnie Colemon Institute.

What are some of the CHILDISH things the men are in the process of putting away? Having sex with more than one woman is one biggie. The idea that women are trophies is a CHILDISH notion. This is an insight on which the Men’s Only class members agreed. Women are precious spiritual beings made in God’s image and likeness. (See Genesis creation account)

If one is doing an adequate work of attending to the physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, and yes sensual needs of one woman there is no time or energy left to take on another. Furthermore, the faithfulness to one women enriches the man’s growth. Instead of concentrating his life on the “chase” (lying, hiding, and cheating), he can focus on his own spiritual, financial, emotional, and physical growth. This benefits him, the woman in his life, his children and his co-workers and community. What a joy it is to put away CHILDISH things and to go home to where the real fun begins. Thank You, God. Amen.
